Since the founding of Synergy Group, my mission has been to ensure that Pakistan’s creative potential is recognised on the global stage. Today, I am incredibly humbled to share a milestone that is not just a personal achievement, but a proud moment for our nation’s advertising industry.
I have been selected as a member of the Shortlisting Jury for the Media category at the Cannes Lions 2026 International Festival of Creativity. This is particularly significant as I am the only person from Pakistan to be represented on the jury this year.
It is about more than a title. It is about sitting at the table where the world’s most groundbreaking ideas are scrutinised, where strategy meets execution, and where campaigns prove their true worth.
This year’s jury announcement highlights a broader, exciting shift in the industry. Cannes Lions has noted that more than 40 independent agencies are making their jury debut. It is heartening to see regional representation growing on international platforms.
As Simon Cook, CEO of LIONS, rightly said:
“The Shortlisting Jury play a crucial role in the Awards. Their work in recognising groundbreaking creativity establishes the standard of excellence celebrated at the festival. Their unique expertise will ensure the shortlist champions the innovative work driving the industry forward.”
The Power of Media Strategy
The Media category is the soul of strategic communication. It is about how a brand breaks through the noise to deliver real results. The work we evaluate at Cannes must do more than just look good; it must shift mindsets and change the game.
I am looking for:
- Sharp Ideas
- Powerful Storytelling
- Industry-Defining Campaigns
We have earned our place on the global stage, not just as participants but as leaders. Being the sole representative from Pakistan is a responsibility I don’t take lightly. I am there to challenge ideas, question what truly works, and champion the kind of excellence that makes you stop and think.
As we look toward the 73rd edition of Cannes Lions, taking place from 22 to 26 June, I am looking forward to witnessing the work that will define our industry’s future and shape the next era of creativity.
