Ahmed Kapadia, the Founding Chairman and CEO of the Synergy Group, has played a key role in reshaping Pakistan’s advertising and marketing sectors for over three decades. Embarking on his journey from humble beginnings, he climbed the ranks in the advertising sector from his time as an executive at MNJ Advertising to his Chairmanship at the Synergy Group, which was initiated as an ambitious start-up back in 1999. Ever since, he has been striving to change the game in advertising, marketing and communications throughout the industry by creating groundbreaking work for his clients, as well as building iconic brands within the Synergy universe for which the Synergy Group has received numerous awards.

In 1999, Kapadia co-founded Awan & Kapadia and later renamed it Synergy Advertising. Within four years, Synergy won numerous awards and became one of the top advertising agencies in Pakistan. Today the small company has evolved into a powerhouse in advertising and communications comprising twelve distinct companies.

CHANGING THE GAME

Upon his return to the advertising sector after spending a few years at Lakson Tobacco Company on the brand side, Kapadia introduced innovative management practices and exercised empowering leadership, making Orient Advertising one of the largest media billing agency during his tenure. This challenged the status quo at the time and distributed authority through performance, rather than consolidating it through position.

MAKING IT BIG

At Orient McCann, Kapadia took charge of the agency’s operations by introducing systems and SOPs that streamlined the agency’s project management structure. By virtue of these processes and with a flair for building brands, he spearheaded major projects and achieved significant milestones, including the repositioning of Coca-Cola and many other brands which directly turned them into top-selling names in Pakistan.

TO INFINITY & BEYOND

In 1997, Kapadia joined Evernew Concepts, established its Karachi office and worked on successful projects like the launch of Evernew Entertainment.
